Shortness of breath or unilateral swelling? Not every complaint immediately indicates heart failure. However, there is often more behind these common symptoms. How do you distinguish trivial complaints from early heart failure? This training helps you to analyze signals sharply, make a well-founded diagnosis, and identify underlying causes effectively.
You will learn to recognize typical and less typical symptoms, with the NYHA classification serving as a tool to assess them correctly. This is followed by an in-depth look at differential diagnoses and the identification of causes. You will gain insight into relevant research findings and learn to apply the European guidelines correctly.
Subsequently, the course provides you with tools to formulate a preliminary diagnosis and communicate clearly about it with your patient. Additionally, you will discover which treatments are meaningful at an early stage. You will learn when to measure natriuretic peptides and how to translate the NICE recommendations into your practice. Finally, the role of echocardiography and ejection fraction will be explained, as well as the distinction between heart failure with preserved or reduced ejection fraction.
After this training, you will recognize heart failure at an early stage and manage it with confidence.
